• Exercise for celluliteThere is a lot of information (or should I say dis-information) out there about cellulite and exercise. Most sites promoting quick-fix treatments say that exercise cannot possibly reduce cellulite.

But, as I was reading this post by a fellow blogger it struck me that if cellulite is casued by trapped fat cells, then shrinking those fat cells and/or building up more muscle would surely lead to less visible cellulite.

You see, cellulite is simply cased by a layer of fat that is closest to the skin. When these fat cells expand too much, the surrounding collagen fibers warp which creates the uneven appearance of the skin.

Understanding the causes behind cellulite is important to find the effective anti-cellulite resolution for yourself. Fighting cellulite is getting rid of those fat cells underneath the skin and toxins. Exercise is one of the most important ingredients of fighting cellulite. You can combine exercise for cellulite creams to achieve best results. And in order not to stress yourself too much, you can choose an exercise routine that you enjoy. It does not necessarily mean that you need to go to the gym. If you like sports, you can find a way to practice it on a regular basis.

The main goal is to increase circulation and improve muscle tone in the waist, buttocks, and thighs. Regular cardio and strength training can help shrink cellulite. Going through a weigh loss program does not always mean an actual loss of body fat. The fat cells will not evaporate just easily, they just become smaller. That’s why it is important to have regular exercise and build up lean muscle.

You can eradicate the appearance of cellulite with regular exercise, especially with deep breathings and strength training. Strength training program is a good anti-cellulite exercise. And it will increase the likelihood of maintaining lean muscles as you get older.

  • Get rid of cellulite with anti-cellulite treatments
Cellulite comes from fat deposits found in various parts of the body most commonly in the belly, thighs, buttocks, arms. The be-dimpled appearance is caused by the fat cells pushing through the connective tissues of the skin. Women are mostly afflicted by cellulite but men are not exempt.

There are various factors promoting the presence of cellulite, thus effective cellulite treatments should focus on the factors causing it.

If you’ve been searching the net for cellulite treatment options that work, you will have come across these treatments: body wrapping, electronic muscle stimulation (EMS), plastic surgery and cellulite creams. These are the most popular and coupled with proper diet and exercise, these will probably prove effective in the long run.

    Body wrapping

Body wrapping services are mostly offered by health spas and business that caters to beauty consumers. This cellulite treatment involves wrapping some kind of material around the problem areas, such as around the waist, thighs, etc. for an hour or so . The wrapping materials are said to be made of simple plastic materials, or rubber. Lotions are also applied to help reduce irritations around the problem areas.

Most fitness and weight-loss experts agree that body wrapping is not really an effective cellulite treatment option. Weight lost during these session is not really fat or cellulite but water due to heavy sweating just like what happens in sauna. Also keep in mind that dehydration and imbalanced electrolyte levels can result from too much reduction in body fluids and considering the cost against the effectiveness of this option, you’re probably better off foregoing this option. But if, you opt to do body wrapping other than to reduce cellulite, you will still come out of this experience, rested and relaxed.

    Electro treatments

Electronic muscle stimulation involves two types of equipment. The first type sends an electric current to a specific part of the body while the other is a massaging equipment. Electronic muscle stimulation is used to improve blood circulation, aid in prevention of blood clots, reduces muscle spasms and as rehabilitation treatment for muscles following stroke. The electric current supposedly makes the affected muscle to contract which in a way mimics regular exercise but this is not so.

Thus, there is no medical or scientific basis to support the claims of manufacturers that these equipments aid in reducing cellulites. There is also not enough data to support the claims of massaging device manufacturer that electronic muscle stimulation due to massage is effective in the cellulite treatment.

    Surgery

Cellulite treatments involving surgery includes liposuction, mesotherapy and the newest lipo dissolve. Liposuction is done under anesthesia and so it is performed by competent doctors and in fully equipped clinic. Mesotherapy is less intrusive than liposuction. It involves injecting substances that dissolve fats in specific problem areas leaving the fat cells to shrink , therefor reducing cellulites. Lipo dissolve is similar to mesotherapy in that it also involves injecting fat dissolving substances. They differ only to the extent of coverage. Mesotherapy works only on fats under the skin while lipo dissolve works much deeper.

  • Cellulite, the appearance of fat cells that have bulged through the middle layer of skin, occurs mostly on the thigh and hip area and is experienced by about 90% of women worldwide. Caused by a large variety of factors, from genetics and hormonal fluctuations to an unhealthy lifestyle and aging, the condition has many “supposed” treatments available on the market.

While cellulite treatments can be found in all prices, from cheap over the counter cellulite creams to expensive laser therapies, most of these have not shown any concrete results and are thus not recommended as a means of getting rid of cellulite. Most scientists agree that once cellulite has formed, not much can be done to remove it completely, and they suggest making some basic changes in your life to help camouflage current cellulite and reduce the appearance of new fatty cells.

    How to reduce cellulite

To reduce cellulite, you will need to make some basic lifestyle changes. These will help you more than any commercial cellulite treatment will and for a fraction of the cost.
It is important to detoxify your body so that your body can stop retaining water and your blood circulation can improve.

Firstly, within the detoxification cellulite treatment, it is recommended that you do on a home detoxification diet. This includes eating only organic foods and removing processed foods and unnecessary calories from your diet for a week or so to help your body remove all the toxins already in your body.

Secondly, you will need to cut down on smoking if you smoke. This is because smoking constricts your blood vessels, which is a known cause of cellulite. Similarly, you will need to cut out unhealthy substances from your diet like saturated fats, junk food, diet sodas and alcohol. If you can’t completely cut these down, try and reduce the intake as much as you can.

Thirdly, if you are overweight, it is recommended that you lose weight. As you lose weight, your body’s fat cells will shrink, thus giving your skin a smoother appearance. While the fat cells never completely disappear, by staying at a healthy weight you can stop your skin from looking too dimply.

    Drink plenty of water!

Also increase the amount of water you drink. By drinking at least eight to ten glasses of water a day, you can help flush toxins out of your body faster and keep your skin hydrated and healthy.

Other home-based cellulite treatments include buying a body brush and brushing your skin regularly, before a bath. The stimulation will increase blood flow, remove dead skin cells and encourage the growth of new cells. At the end of each shower, you should stand under cold water, as cold as you can take, for a minute to help tone the skin.

    Exercise is your friend

Finally, make sure you get at least thirty minutes of exercise every day, with at least a few strength building and muscle toning exercises for the areas where cellulite is present. By building muscle, you will help the skin look smoother and camouflage the cellulite.

By making these simple changes in your lifestyle, you can reap the benefits of having an inexpensive cellulite treatment at home that offers the same benefits as expensive cellulite treatments in spas.
